I will still do a 1,000 piece on occasion, but I don't stray too much under 3,000 anymore. But in the last few years, it's been 3,000-5,000. The challenge would be choosing a larger puzzle that would not irritate me by having large stretches of monotonous colour/shape.įor the first 28 years of my life, it was overwhelmingly 1,000 pieces. so perhaps I I could set aside a space for a longer stretch of time for a larger puzzle - to let visitors contribute while we chat. I've found others like to pitch in too if one is out. we once raced to do a pair of smaller (126pce) ones: I won. Lately it is 1000 pce though we might do a couple in a weekend. It depends how much time I have with my uncle - we do them together, usually. I think 1000pcs is most popular, with special designs Anything bigger than that is a bit tight for space on the table it usually takes us 2-3 days for most of the ones we have done My wife and i never do less than 1000 pieces, although we will do a 2000 piece it has to be one we like. Anyway, for anyone limited on space, these are great.

I will try to take some pictures and post them so you can see it. Everything closes up into the box and you can stand it up against a wall or whatever. The thing I like the best about it is that you don t have to leave the puzzle out when not working on it. It even has pieces that hold the puzzle pieces. Last Christmas, my husband bought me "The Puzzler" for Christmas.and I LOVE IT! If you haven't heard of it, it is a contraption that a man makes that holds your puzzle as you put it together. lol.I just get hooked on doing them.although I am not a fast puzzler. Like Dean and Barb, I am never in a rush to finish my puzzles, but once I start, I can't stop. They seem to be just right as far as time and space goes for me. My favorites are also the 1000 piece ones. PS - do you need to rent a warehouse to do a 24,000 piece puzzle? "Happy Puzzling To All!!" John But now our "puzzling space" is shared by our laptop computer, so we've dropped to 500 piece projects, and really liked the first one (see my latest group post). My wife and I had been doing strictly 1,000 piece puzzles. If I had the room much bigger puzzles would be the agenda. I am never in a hurry to finish a puzzle so this size is good and you tend to get a more detailed picture. My preference are the 1500 to 3000 piece size. I'm in love with one of 24000 pieces, but I don't even know if I will have a room big enough to do it.! However I normally do them with over 1000 pieces, but I've never tried anything with more than 4000 pieces. I'm already looking for a 5000 piece to do. Just finished my 4000 piece puzzle and have to say, it was awesome. which I did not put together yet - one day I will! My largest one was 3000 pieces - and it took me months to finish it - especially the last 700 dark blue/violet pieces! I am currently working on a 4000 piece and very much enjoy it. I also have 2 or 3 with 2000, but they are too big, I don t have where to assemble them anymore. Anything smaller than 750 is to easy and to fast and I'd like to get my money's worth. Also, size can be a problem, I live alone in a small apartment and I don't have a big table for doing anything bigger than that on. big enough for a challenge but not so big that I give up. The larger ones take a lot of time - I'll do them, but preferrably only colorful ones, others are too difficult and drive me crazy. The smaller ones are usually a bit too easy, but when the picture is nice, I'll do them, even if they only have 24 pieces - see my latest ones:)

I find them hard to find, so I usually go with what I can get my hands on.
